MAGNIFICENT PAIR OF
VICTORIAN HERTER BROTHERS PEDESTALS
Attributed, with confidence, to Herter Brothers, NYC, circa
1860's
Beautiful, born together, identical pair of elaborately crafted ebonized
Victorian Pedestals. Each Pedestal has four large, framed, oval inlaid panels
with four different bird inlay designs. The inlaid panels are identical on
both pedestals. Other features include large raised maple panels on all four
sides, incised gold accents throughout, small round panels near the bottom
featuring butterflies, marble tops, and substantial bases: all features are
identical on both Pedestals. The Pedestals can be enjoyed from a 360 degree
view.
The Pedestals have been restored, the finishes refreshed and the accents
renewed.
