This is a gorgeous mid-century Bedroom suite by Empire Furniture Corp.
Johnson City, TN) consisting of:
1) Chest-On-Chest,
2) Low Dresser,
3) Mirror, and
4) One Nightstand.
These are likely 1936-1960 vintage and are SOLID MAHOGANY THROUGHOUT!
They were bought and owned by my grandmother (likely bought at a downtown
furniture store), and kept in her guest bedroom - only moved twice - once from
store to her home, once from her home to ours. ALL original sales brochures
and furniture certification documents are included and well-preserved. These
vintage, original sales brochures and certification (see photos) tags read:

Lifetime Furnishings - Empire Standard of Quality. Made from Genuine Solid
Mahogany. Between the years of 1780 and 1800 the new American nation was in
the first enthusiastic throes of independence, the imports from England had
somewhat lessened after the Revolution, which gave the artisans of this country
a real chance to show their splendid skill. This opportunity produced in
furniture especially, those typically American features of generous size
without unwieldy bulk, of excellent cabinet work, for an eagerly appreciative
clientele. The No. 450 Bedroom ensemble which Empire Furniture Corporation
presents herewith is inspired by examples from that period. Solid Mahogany is
used as the best medium for our craftsmanship. Bedroom Group No. 450
NOTE: The sales brochure above refers to the 1780 - 1800 for sales purposes,
not to indicate that the furniture was manufactured during that time. These
were manufactured in the mid-20th century, not in the 18th century.)
This is the real deal - solid, American-built furniture made of gorgeous, deep
warm mahogany. The tops are mostly in flawless condition with a deep shiny
luster preserved by decades of Pledge dusting and careful care. The legs/lower
areas have a few mild dings and scratches - mostly from a Royal vacuum
cleaner. Most blemishes could be completely covered with careful restoration
work, but none has been done to date as I'm unsure if it would negatively
affect the value of these great pieces.
I will discuss arranging shipping for Continental U.S. (NO overseas
shipments), but this will require **advanced payment**, a $100 fee in addition
to freight costs for arranging quotes and calculating the shipping costs, and I
will ship once your final freight and purchase payments have cleared the bank.
